Transit Center development proposals top out at 40 stories

Redevelopment proposals sent to Milwaukee County for the Downtown Transit Center include a 40-story retail and apartment tower, office high rises, and a hotel. Milwaukee County on Monday collected conceptual project plans from developers for the transit center site that County Executive Chris Abele plans to sell. Brian Taffora, Milwaukee County economic development director, said the county received more than one but fewer than 10 responses, but would not name exactly how many or which companies... ... MCTS Wants Your Feedback Regarding the Recent Changes to Local Routes

MCTS Wants Your Feedback Regarding the Recent Changes to Local Routes

We would like to know what you think about the changes in local transit service that began in January. As you may recall, MCTS was initially faced with a major loss of funds from the state. This would have resulted in the elimination of several routes and numerous route changes throughout the county. This situation was avoided when MCTS applied for, and was awarded, a two-year grant from the Federal Government. These funds had to be used to create express service (the MetroEXpress RedLine, BlueLine, and GreenLine). They allowed MCTS to keep several routes from being eliminated, but it required that some routes needed to be changed. We sincerely appreciate your patience and continued ridership during this transition. We understand that changes in service greatly affect how you use transit. The answers you provide today will help us decide how to serve you better in the future. Thank you for your time... Read More

WisDOT give update on I-94 East-West repavement project

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is getting closer to completing its repaving project on the I-94 East-West corridor running through Wauwatosa, Milwaukee and West Allis. This project began in the middle of February, and is planned to be completed in June.

The DOT says lane closures will affect motorists, and recommends that motorists consider carpooling. Two lanes of traffic will remain open during peak hours, and night time work will require more lane closures.

Read More
